I received this book in exchange for my honest review.
Peter James is a seasoned writer and brilliant crime and thriller novelist. This book is a sequel to his “The House on Cold Hill.”
This book is edgy and a major creepfeast! There’s moments you’ll find yourself sitting looking around the room at the slightest sound when reading this book and other times, you’ll be sitting all pins and needlely wondering if something is looking over your shoulder. Majorly creepy. As the second book to this story, you’ll be glad and anxious that things are just not done with Cold Hill House’s location and mystery. It’s history is determined to be heard and justified. The house’s violent history determined not to be forgotten and as it waits… evil builds.
I get shivers thinking about it still. After everything that’s happened, developers are actually building new homes at this location. You want to scream at the book: “Are you flippin Crazy!”
A very, very provocative ghost story. There’s some gore, so be prepared and a lot of mind whiplash. James’ writing style is twisty and dark, not predictable and filled with a lot of suspense. You’ll keep turning pages one right after the other to find out what happens next. It’s gratifying and entertaining, something you need to read.
