I received this novel in exchange for my honest review.
What a wonderful book!
Connilyn Cossette is a gifted storyteller. This is the first book in a new series by this author, her fourth I believe. She’s included elements of biblical proportions in a historical fiction premise that focuses mainly on fictional characters placed in biblical history. Her lyrical writing style is a pleasure to read. In this book, she focuses on Israel, around 1399 BC.
You will love the protagonist, Moriyah, and the story she has to tell. Added elements of adventure and action make this story even more enjoyable and realistic. I knew nothing about Cities of Refuge and found this incredibly fascinating, so much so, that I researched it further after I finished the book. Truly amazing writing.
You should read all of Cossette’s books in order since she ties many characters together from one book to the next. And they are all very realistic and very complex, each story let’s you into the protagonist’s innermost emotions and fears. Fantastic story!
I encourage all to read this book.
