Mila was never meant to learn the truth about her identity. She was a girl living with her mother in a small Minnesota town. She was supposed to forget her past—that she was built in a secret computer science lab and programmed to do things real people would never do.

Now she has no choice but to run—from the dangerous operatives who want her terminated because she knows too much and from a mysterious group that wants to capture her alive and unlock her advanced technology. However, what Mila’s becoming is beyond anyone’s imagination, including her own, and it just might save her life.

MY THOUGHTS:

I found this book in a thrift store and had to read it.

A book about a struggling AI who questions her ‘humanity.’

I mean come on! Mila 2.0, the first book of this series by Debra Driza blew me away. I loved the main character and the character of ‘mom.’ I was/am suspicious of this Hunter dude right from the beginning and got a little bored with how the AI pines away over him, but hey, she thought she was a teenage girl for crying out!

She can’t help that she’s this buffed secret weapon built to kill people. OMG how cool does that sound? This Young Adult series is proving to be a brilliant mix of Sci Fi/thriller way ahead of its time.

I read this book in two sittings and am now heading into Book II of the series, Mila 2.0 Renegade. I can’t wait to see what Mila will do next. With all the talk about humanity merging with technology these days, this book came to me at  a great time!

I gave it:
