What would you do if, instead of a cat or a goldfish, you had a dinosaur for a pet? Well, that’s exactly what happens to the little boy in this story when an enormous egg appears at his house one day. Day by day, he learns exactly how to look after his dinosaur: what to feed it for breakfast, where to take it for walks, and, perhaps most difficult of all, how to deal with dinosaur-size poop!

MY THOUGHTS:
I received this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
This book is both written and illustrated by the author. I think the story is absolutely adorable and the illustrations compliment the story perfectly. It’s fun, funny, engaging and a page turner.
The book jacket and hardcover art are the same and the size is perfect for little laps. The illustrations are bright and fill the pages with fun and adventures. My favorite character is the boy’s dog, but that’s just me.
I love how the story carries the premise of a dinosaur being treated as a pet dog and the “how-to” prose made me smile, especially the part about the dino poop!
A great book easily enjoyed by young first readers.
