Hoarding all the knowledge of the world, the Great Library jealously guards its secrets. But now a group of rebels poses a dangerous threat to its tyranny…
Jess Brightwell and his band of exiles have fled London, only to find themselves imprisoned in Philadelphia, a city led by those who would rather burn books than submit. But Jess and his friends have a bargaining chip: the knowledge to build a machine that will break the Library’s rule.
Their time is running out. To survive, they’ll have to choose to live or die as one, to take the fight to their enemies—and to save the very soul of the Great Library…

MY THOUGHTS:
I recently received this book in exchange for my honest review. This is the second book that I’ve reviewed written by Rachel Caine. Rachel is an intelligent, ambitious woman with an incredible talent
See my other review here for “Honor Among Thieves.”
The Great Library Series:
Once again, Berkley has put out a winner!
Rachel Caine did a lovely interview with me recently and it’s here if you’re interested.
I love her writing style, it’s precise and neat and well researched/thought out and you know you’ll have a fantastical fantasy read on your hands when you purchase it. I adore her work, love how her story unfolds. Her plot development is bang on with multiple twists and turns to keep you engaged and multiple interesting and enjoyable characters to get to know. She’s fleshed out each one to include a well-rounded individual with warts and all. Then she develops these amazing lands, complicated and challenging for the others to navigate.
Perfectly written. Can’t wait for the next part to be written and released.
