MY THOUGHTS:
I received this book in exchange for my honest review.
I requested this book to read and review because it happened to come across my desk when my daughter, who is special needs, was having trouble understanding why she was different from the other kids. We’d just had a talk about how great it was to be different rather than like all the rest. I had asked her why she’d ever want to be the same because that could be very boring. Those things that make us different from each other should be celebrated, I told her, not to mention they make us unique.
This book shares beautifully illustrated pages full of bright and wonderful differences that can easily be identified with. It’s presented age appropriately, using animals vs. human representations to highlight differences in a playful and silly way. This book would be great for children who are just beginning to read and even for special needs children too. Parental involvement to answer any arising questions would also be great
