MY THOUGHTS:

I received this book in exchange for my honest review.

Okay why don’t adults have a book like this? It’s so full of fascinating details, especially in the illustrations.

I think this book is so cool (do people say cool anymore?) and informative. As an adult, I wanted more information, but for a kid, this is guaranteed to peak interest in the topic of places found underground. Not only does this book provide intrigue, it also hints further at more mysteries than discussed, and at an excitement surrounding our history.

To enhance young readers’ interests, there are secret panels with even more exciting facts behind the flaps so they can use visual learning as they turn pages. All illustrations are bright, colorful and well-done.

Egypt, Montreal, the prairies, Poland and other locations are the focus in the book. You see and learn about hidden wonders below ground and how people made use of this space. Who knows… maybe one day as Earth’s population continues to grow, you will see young readers grow into explorers and developers of underground spaces. Maybe, just maybe… the author will spark interest in various fields of studies that pertain to underground construct. I can see a great interest in the topic covered by this book.
