MY THOUGHTS:

I received this book in exchange for my honest review.

I love Bethany House mostly for their cleanly published books. By “cleanly” I mean the writing is void of harsh language and the authors show their talent by getting their points across through clever writing without the need for harshness being used to WOW the reader. Ya, Ya… call it old school… but sometimes, you just need to read one of those to catch your breath.

A Chance At Forever” is just that. A breath of fresh air for a historical romance. Yup, I just read a romance novel. The catch, it’s a historical story set in the early 1900s, so anything historical and I’m in!

Melissa Yagears is known for creating light reads that leave you feeling good about yourself when you finish. As part of a series, The Teaville Moral Society, I would recommend you pick up the first book, A Heart Most Certain, so you can understand the characters in the series better.  There’s a third to the series coming out, A Love So True.

This is a wonderful story about a bully who goes back to the town where his victims live to seek their forgiveness, the main character being one of them. Anyone who has bullied or been bullied will relate to some of the things the characters struggle with. I really enjoyed the character arc development in this book and how the author develops the story-line as inspiration to those seeking redemption and those surviving a terrible ordeal.

Wonderfully written, skillfully developed.

I gave this book:
